Hi, I'm Verna

product reviews

First of all, I want to thank each and everyone of you who signed up to join my email list. WELCOME! I can hardly believe this has finally manifested into something I know my mom is proud of. I am so glad you’re here! I wanted to start this blog off with a brief introduction. I will no longer post long blogs on Instagram as it’s not tailored for bloggers. Many of my post have been pretty lengthy as you’ve all seen and unfortunately, informational posts do not get as much attention or feedback as much as video hair posts, for example. On top of that, because of Instagram’s constant algorithm changes (can we all just roll our eyes in unison), some do not see my posts until days later. I love how @moms.can.be.fit, who is a Certified Health Coach on Instagram puts it, “…it’s the educational, the recipes that are shared, the inspirational messages that give you the recipe needed to GET to your own before and after”. How true! So here’s what I’m planning to do as I move forward…

While generic info. is all over the Internet, taking care of your natural hair is different. In order to get the best results, you have to trust the source and know that they understand exactly what natural hair needs.

As a natural hair blogger, it’s my passion to share with you everything you need to know about not just wearing natural hair, but feeling confident and amazing when you do. Your natural hair is one of your best assets. Unfortunately, so many women do everything they can to fight it or just don’t know how to care for it. And, I was one of them. Or, they may not be interested in wearing their hair in its natural state, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Not one bit. But, keeping it healthy and looking great in its natural state is possible.

You just have to know the real insider secrets (which really aren’t secrets because I spill everything).

And that’s exactly where I come in. Thanks to my growing audience of loyal followers, I’m launching this website to help you better find the information you’re looking for when you need it. As your healthy hair advocate and adviser, you can use this site as your go-to, all-in-one stop to get the tips and advice you need.

Just to make sure you don’t miss out on my latest posts, enter your email on this page to sign up and receive notifications directly to your inbox.

This isn’t just a website, it’s a way to find your community.

So whether you’re transitioning to natural hair or have been wearing it for years, I promise you’ll love what you find here. Enjoying your natural hair does take work, but I’m here to help you every step of the way.

This is excellent, Verna! I know you’ve been held back by the characters allowed on Instagram posts, so this website makes so much sense. I’m happy for you that you have your own place on the web now. I’ll be excited to read (at length!) your new posts as they come. Scrolling through your IG page can be challenging when looking for the right advice or info, so thank you for getting this together for us. 😊 God bless always, Samantha

Yes! As you said, it’s very challenging to scroll through old posts on IG, while here, you have the option to use the search bar (hooray!). That alone is worth the price of admission, lol! Thank you so much by the way for always being so supportive. Blessings!

I LOVED that quote from @moms.can.be.fit too!!! All my most informative posts have fewer likes than posts where my hair is the focus… I’ve always loved your Instagram page but I have a feeling I’ll be recommending your website to people hourly! xxxx

    Dear Verna,

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us. It means a lot to recover my hair, My naturally curly hair. You’re the first person I reached out on IG because I felt lost. I didn’t know there was a "Curly Community" I wanted someone honest that knew what they were talking about. I started my natural Journey on 12/2017 little by little I see the changes thanks to your guidance. You’re informative, humble and, just so lovely to chat. I wish you only the very best. I’m grateful to have found you on IG.

    Warm regards,

    Amalia

Hi Verna, I started the CG journey in March’18 and the first thought after learning about the routine, products, porosity…etc., is "it is overwhelming." It’s nice to follow your tips. I now know that with each product or tip, you are going from strength to strength on the natural hair care journey.

You and Felicia were the first people that inspired me to go natural. A year later and my curls are thriving thanks to help from you and others! I just wanted to say thank you for allowing me to start this journey of loving my natural hair and encouraging me and others to put down the straightener, blow dryer, any hot tools and educating us.
